ChatGPT

Add the Clerx connector as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT on the web.

Before you start, read Connect Clerx: use your invited email and sign out of any other Clerx account.

The connector URL:

https://mcp.clerx.com/mcp

Clerx is not listed in ChatGPT's directory. You add it yourself as a custom connector, so there is no listing to search for.

Whether you can add a custom MCP server depends on your ChatGPT plan and, in a workspace, on your admin's settings. If you do not see Add custom MCP server below, ask your ChatGPT admin. OpenAI also renames these features now and then (apps, plugins), so look for the closest label if one here does not match.

Add the connector

  1. On the web, open chatgpt.com/plugins.
  2. Click the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name Clerx. A description is optional.
  4. Under Connection, paste the URL above as the Server URL.
  5. Set authentication to OAuth.
  6. Read the risk warning, click I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
  7. Find Clerx in your plugins, or in the workspace where you created it, and install it.
  8. When ChatGPT asks you to sign in to Clerx, use the email your firm invited you under and allow the permissions.

Use it

In the prompt box, type @ and select Clerx. Then ask, "What calls came in today?" To keep ChatGPT from reaching for other tools, say you want Clerx only.

Disconnect

Remove Clerx from the same place you added it: its details page in ChatGPT's app settings. Read the Legal Terms to see what disconnecting does and does not do.

If Clerx shows as connected but ChatGPT finds no tools, or the sign-in fails, see Troubleshooting.

These steps follow OpenAI's guide, Add custom MCP server. Check it if a menu does not match.
